Admission to the Doctoral Program

Who can join the program?

The Structured Doctoral Program Health Sciences is a supporting program for all doctoral researchers supervised by a member of the program. Direct applications that are independent of an existing supervisory agreement are not possible.

How can I find a supervisor?

If you are interested in doctoral studies, please apply directly to a supervisor who is a member of the Structured Doctoral Program Health Sciences. This typically happens through advertised positions, funding schemes, or, where applicable, as an independent doctoral researcher without a dedicated position.

Supervisor membership is regulated by their affiliation with the High-Profile Research Area Health Sciences.

How can I register for the program?

Once you have been accepted as a doctoral researcher by your supervisor, you can register for the Structured Doctoral Program Health Sciences in consultation with your supervisor. Admission to the doctoral program is based on an application in which a supervisor confirms their agreement to supervise the doctoral dissertation. Applications should be submitted to the program office by post or electronically (promotion-gesundheit(at)uni-bremen.de).

Important Information
