Experts play an important role in advising political, organisational or social decision-makers. The provision of research findings, their categorisation and consideration, and the recommendations for action derived from them can ensure that their decisions are made on an evidence-informed basis. As elected members of various advisory boards, commissions, expert panels and committees, WSP members act in an advisory capacity in these functions.
