Pillar 1: Structured Supervision

The supervision framework of this doctoral program mandates that every doctoral researcher is supervised by two to three supervisors. All involved parties establish a supervision agreement (template available via the blue ‘Go directly to’ box).

The structured supervision framework includes the following elements:

1. Exposé: To be submitted to the supervisors before submission to the doctoral committee.

2. Biannual supervision meeting: The doctoral researcher meets with all supervisors at least every six months to discuss research progress. The doctoral researcher reports on their progress, and a record (template available via the blue ‘Go directly to’ box) is kept. These protocols are for internal purposes and do not need to be submitted. At least once a year, an external person is invited to attend the meeting.

3. Regular participation in subject-specific colloquia: These serve to present and discuss your own research project and to engage in academic exchange with supervisors and other doctoral researchers. Colloquia may be offered by departments or by supervisors.
